The iconic Apollo Theater is taking its legendary Amateur Night auditions on the road across the country in what is being described as Culture In Motion™.

The world-famous Apollo Theater is hitting the road. So instead of going to the Apollo in New York, The Apollo Theater is coming to you through Culture In Motion™. I sat down with the producers of this cultural event. Here it is.

The number of artists that have come through The Apollo and really come from the road into that stage, into that place, it just felt only fitting that the Apollo… I call it an appreciation tour.
Yeah, the bus is a vehicle, a literal vehicle, but it is also transportation that is transporting us through the nation, but it’s also transporting us through history.

Working on this, like how rewarding is it for both of you to be working together on this?

Well, it’s just amazing, you know, and I’m so grateful that Kwanza has allowed me to come work with her and with Culture In Motion™, because there’s a whole generation of kids out there right now who may not know The Apollo the way that our generation knew it, especially if you don’t live in Harlem and you’re walking by it every day.
So, the great part about what’s going on with Culture In Motion™ is we are literally bringing it to the people where they are.
